River of Hope
The River of Hope is a gorgeous dry riverbed embracing a great oak and is filled with colorful inspirational stones that serve as a reminder to our victims that they are not alone but have an entire community supporting them.
The River was created to serve as a symbol of hope and to give strength to survivors of abuse. The river stones that adorn the river were painted by advocates, law enforcement, prosecutors, child welfare workers, and other survivors. The stones serve as a “worry stone” to many clients displacing other destructive coping methods and replacing it with a healthy self-soothing exercise.
Children’s Alliance of South Texas welcomes community groups, clubs, and businesses to donate an hour of their time to paint and show their support to child victims in the community. Together we can end child abuse and allow hope to flow freely.
